BACKGROUND
I am a fearless cancer fighter!
The fear of public speaking ranks #1 in the minds of the many. Far above the fear of death and disease, comes the fear of standing in front of a crowd. I share that same fear.
But when my father and aunt were recently faced with the prospect of Cancer, their courage motivated me to challenge my own fears. As a result, I plan to fight the fear of Cancer by facing the fear of public speaking with a charitable and historic event.
GUINNESS WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT FOR THE MOST SPEECHES IN 24 HOURS IN SUPPORT OF CANCER RESEARCH
On Saturday, April 30, 2016, I plan to face my own public speaking challenge by `attempting to break the world record for most speeches in 24 hours in support of the Canadian Cancer Society. This has been approved as an official attempt by Guinness World Records and officially endorsed by the Canadian Cancer Society. The current world record is 21 speeches in 24 hours. My goal is to deliver 23 different speeches at over 23 locations, to over 23 audiences, in less than 24 hours and raise $16,000 for cancer research. Community organizations throughout the Durham Region will join me to help fight cancer and fight the fear of public speaking by hosting the speech events.
I am using my personal challenge to help fight cancer!
I am proud to be raising funds to support the fight against cancer. The money I raise will help the Canadian Cancer Society fund life-saving cancer research, offer vital information on cancer and provide compassionate support services to people living with cancer and their families.
Help me reach my fundraising goal!
Please pledge me now and join me in the fight against cancer.
Online pledging is secure and it saves the Society money by reducing administrative costs - it means the money you give can go further to help the fight against cancer.
